Vendelux is hiring a Staff AI Engineer in New York, NY to research, construct, and release artificial intelligence capabilities that enhance user workflows and business value. Key Responsibilities

Research and implement modern techniques including artificial intelligence agents, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning.

Balance execution speed with impact while delivering artificial intelligence solutions.

Convert business challenges into technology features that accelerate user insights and improve workflows.

Manage the architecture and integration of agentic chat capabilities across the platform.

Build foundational systems that enable agents to reason, execute actions, and display insights.

Establish interaction patterns between agents, internal data, external tools, and user workflows.

Architect multi-tenant infrastructure that satisfies performance, latency, and cost goals for a business-to-business software product.

Maintain production-grade standards through observability, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails.

Partner with product, data science, and application engineering teams to execute on business requirements.

Advise leadership on the technology roadmap and product differentiation strategies.

Requirements

Eight or more years of professional background in software engineering or data engineering.

Minimum of three years focused on constructing artificial intelligence and machine learning products.

Strong programming abilities in Python and proficiency in SQL.

Practical background using modern artificial intelligence frameworks like HuggingFace and LangChain.

Experience designing data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.

Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure providers including AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Production deployment history with generative models, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation.

Knowledge of foundational data science and machine learning techniques.

Track record of releasing user-facing features with documented impact.

Communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
