Role Overview

The Senior User Experience Designer role at Canopy is an opportunity to shape AI-first software solutions for accounting firms in Draper, Utah. This hybrid position suits a collaborative professional who enjoys working closely with product management and engineering to build useful tools for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Embed cross-functionally with product management and engineering teams to guide product planning, share feedback, and make user-driven decisions.
Partner with product managers to set up, lead, and execute customer research and stakeholder interviews.
Design user flows, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity visuals, and assets that accurately portray user interactions.
Shape AI-powered product experiences that allow customers to direct, trust, correct, and stay in control of AI workflows.
Prepare assets for engineering handoff and work alongside engineers to ensure high-quality design implementation.
Construct user interfaces within an existing design system and component library.
Provide guidance and coaching to fellow designers to enhance overall team skills.
Seek feedback from stakeholders across product design, engineering, sales, customer support, and marketing.

Requirements

Desired 5 plus years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, or Interaction Design.
Strong empathy for users and a customer-obsessed attitude.
Deep understanding of mobile and web design patterns, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
Proficiency in design tools and methodologies such as Figma, Usertesting.com, wireframing, and workflow diagrams.
Practical, confident use of AI throughout the design process, including research synthesis, exploration, prototyping, and production work.
Comfort working in both code and canvas environments to read components and prototype efficiently.
A portfolio showcasing primary designer work on high-impact mobile and desktop projects with strong problem-solving and visual design skills.
Experience conducting user usability testing and research, turning insights into actionable improvements.

Nice to Have

Experience in designing user interfaces for B2B, B2B2C, or B2C fintech applications.
Experience or a strong appetite for designing AI features, including prompt design, communicating model confidence, and human review.
