Sr. Software Engineer - AI/ML - AI Platform
About this role
Delivering robust artificial intelligence capabilities that scale safely into production is the core challenge this engineering hire will address for Addepar. The AI Platform group builds disruptive wealth technology solutions that unify complex financial portfolios and market data for global investment professionals.
Working alongside product managers and fellow engineers, the incoming specialist will architect and drive execution for core platform features ranging from large language models to agentic frameworks. Success in the position requires a deep ownership mindset, backend software expertise, and a strong bias for rapid iteration and operational excellence.
What you will do
- Drive the end-to-end execution and delivery of AI-native products from initial prototype to scalable production services.
- Architect, build, and productionize core platform components including large language models and their surrounding ecosystems.
- Implement agentic frameworks and core capabilities such as model context protocol, cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use.
- Enforce technical discipline and operational excellence across all artificial intelligence product offerings.
- Rapidly iterate on products based on performance metrics and user feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging artificial intelligence technologies and frameworks to maintain industry positioning.
- Partner with product managers and engineering teams to translate strategic goals into technical realities.
What you need
- Extensive professional background in backend software engineering with expertise in Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record of owning and shipping complex, production-grade systems.
- Demonstrated experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or comparable passion through significant personal projects.
- Deep ownership mindset with a strong bias for action and rapid iteration based on feedback.
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

- Specific experience with large language models and agentic systems
- Hands-on experience with modern AI and LLM ecosystem technologies such as Databricks, Langchain, or MLFlow
- Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underpinning modern large language models
