About this role

Gametime United is building a new engineering function embedded within customer experience teams to make artificial intelligence the default mode of operation for the entire organization. The first AI Engineer on the operations team will design and deploy production-grade agentic workflows that automate repetitive and complex tasks such as fan issue triage, seller risk monitoring, and marketplace optimization. Working directly alongside Fan Ops and Marketplace Ops specialists, the engineer will multiply operator capacity while teaching non-technical colleagues how to build their own automations and use artificial intelligence tools effectively.

This hands-on role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity and wants to see their code go into production on the same day, directly improving resolution times and fan satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background combined with a consultative approach, capable of translating stakeholder challenges into functional applications without relying on detailed specs. Anyone who prefers documenting and advising rather than building from scratch will not find a fit here.

What you will do

  • Identify and document high-leverage workflow transformations across Fan Ops and Marketplace Ops by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Design and build production-grade agentic workflows that automate tasks like issue triage, dispute resolution, and SLA monitoring.
  • Integrate with internal and external data systems to deliver tools that operate at the speed and scale required for live event ticketing.
  • Develop user-friendly interfaces such as clean UIs, Slack-based tools, and retrieval systems that non-technical teammates can readily utilize.
  • Coach operations staff through a progressive journey from initial awareness to complete self-sufficiency in building automations.
  • Own the full lifecycle of developed tools from initial design through production deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
  • Explore and evaluate emerging agentic frameworks, large language models, and tooling as the artificial intelligence landscape evolves.

What you need

  • Bring at least four years of technical operations or software engineering experience, including a minimum of one year building production large language models or agentic systems.
  • Demonstrate experience in building and deploying production tools utilized by non-engineers.
  • Translate complex stakeholder domain knowledge into clear technical requirements using plain language.
  • Provide evidence of past formal or informal coaching that successfully changed how others work.
  • Show comfort operating with ambiguity when starting from open-ended problems rather than rigid specifications.

Nice to have

  • Experience in customer operations, CX tooling, trust and safety, or marketplace operations contexts
  • Background in ticketing, e-commerce, or two-sided marketplace environments
  • Familiarity with support tooling platforms
  • Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector databases, and evaluation frameworks
  • Experience with data tools including SQL, dbt, and Snowflake

Benefits

  • Competitive equity package
  • Flexible PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and disability coverage
  • Family-forming benefits via Carrot Fertility
  • 401(k) and HSA
  • $1,200 annual Gametime event credits
  • Company off-sites and wellness programs
  • Tenure recognition
