Envoy is seeking a Solutions Engineering Intern for a full-time position based at the San Francisco, California headquarters. This hands-on role is ideal for technical students passionate about developing practical AI-powered solutions to solve complex business challenges.

Role Overview

This position sits at the intersection of business, data, engineering, and artificial intelligence teams. The intern will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to diagnose operational roadblocks, design technical workflows, and deploy functional applications. Working onsite five days a week from Monday through Friday in the San Francisco office, the candidate will take ambiguous problems, map out technical strategies, test prototypes, and deliver reliable internal applications used by real teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deploy internal applications and AI-driven tools for teams across Envoy.
Partner directly with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze workflows, uncover pain points, and define requirements.
Develop integrations linking internal systems, data sources, APIs, and large language models.
Rapidly prototype solutions and transition successful models into dependable internal utilities.
Utilize automation frameworks, APIs, agents, and large language models.
Apply Python and SQL to retrieve, validate, and transform data streams.
Implement rigorous testing, validation, and safety guardrails around artificial intelligence outputs.
Present completed projects, collect constructive user feedback, and iterate on deployed tools.

Requirements

Current enrollment in a degree program focused on Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
Solid programming fundamentals with a primary emphasis on Python.
Proficiency in working with databases, SQL, and external APIs.
Practical background in building with artificial intelligence tools or large language models through academic coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or past internships.
Capacity to deconstruct vague problems into actionable, buildable components.
Strong interpersonal communication skills suitable for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High level of curiosity, independence, and readiness to rapidly grasp unfamiliar technical systems.

Nice to Have

Background in developing artificial intelligence agents or applications leveraging large language model APIs.
Familiarity with agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool calling, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Exposure to cloud computing environments such as AWS.
Prior experience creating web applications, internal tools, or workflow automations.
Familiarity interacting with analytics infrastructure or production data systems.
