Software Engineer (Secrets Manager & AI Identity)

Bitwarden seeks a software engineer for the Secrets Manager team to contribute to the design and development of the application stack, handling concepts like machine accounts, projects, and access tokens.

What you will do
- Build well-scoped feature components across the API, web client, and software development kits.
- Master the zero-knowledge security architecture by understanding encryption methods and server visibility limits.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests while maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Participate in pull request reviews and read teammate changes to accelerate codebase familiarity.
- Support production services to maintain operational health and stability.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers while communicating risks early.
- Maintain accurate internal architecture notes, API contracts, and public open source documentation.
- Utilize AI coding assistants effectively while ensuring complete understanding of every shipped line of code.
What you need
- Bring two or more years of professional experience as a software engineer.
- Demonstrate proficiency with AI-assisted development practices.
- Possess independent working capability in C# and .NET.
- Show working knowledge of TypeScript and Angular.
- Understand relational databases, SQL, and ideally an ORM like Entity Framework Core.
- Apply familiarity with HTTP, REST API design, Git workflows, and automated testing layers.
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to Go, Rust, and Python
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions
- Experience with containerized environments such as Kubernetes
- Knowledge of C++, Java, PHP, and the WASM instruction format
