Software Engineer (Machine Learning) Intern (Summer 2027)
About this role
The Affirm engineering team is focused on building the core financial platform that supports the company's mission of providing clear, predictable payment options for consumers. Interns contribute directly to projects that have tangible impact, such as developing real-time, high-throughput data processing pipelines and creating automated testing frameworks. A key focus is building out the proprietary financial platform central to Affirm's long-term goals. This internship provides an opportunity for students to work on meaningful projects and ship code that is deployed into production.
The role is designed for students who are eager to contribute to production systems and learn through direct mentorship. Interns will collaborate closely with a mentor to define projects that align with team needs, ensuring their contributions are integral to the team's success. This role is suitable for motivated individuals who thrive in an environment where their work is depended upon.
Candidates who possess strong technical skills and a dedication to improving consumer banking are well-suited for this opportunity.
