About this role
Writing backend systems and integrating AI tools across the development lifecycle forms the core of daily operations at Cabify. Engineers collaborate with principal and data science teams to design distributed applications, use AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery, and maintain production reliability while keeping full accountability for technical decisions.

What you will do
- Collaborate with principal engineers on development planning and architecture design, including where AI-driven components fit into systems.
- Design, build, and maintain distributed, clean, testable, data-oriented applications that increasingly incorporate AI and LLM-powered services.
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools as part of the daily workflow to move faster without compromising code quality.
- Improve service reliability, scalability, and performance for systems integrating with LLM and AI model APIs.
- Own code all the way to production utilizing a self-service continuous delivery pipeline and production infrastructure.
- Dive deep into host-level problem-solving and help improve detection methods.
- Mentor junior developers, including guidance on how to effectively pair with AI tools.
- Collaborate closely with the Data Science team on data.
What you need
- Demonstrate great alignment with company principles.
- Possess solid knowledge of common algorithms and data structures.
- Bring experience developing medium to large-scale web applications and distributed systems in production.
- Show experience with common design and architectural patterns.
- Feel comfortable working with AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as part of the daily process.
- Maintain a strong ability to own engineering decisions, validation, quality, and production outcomes.
- Have genuine curiosity about how AI changes software engineering and an interest in experimenting with new tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently while acting as a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.

Our office is located in Madrid at Calle de Pradillo 42, 28002, and this is a fully on-site role based in our Madrid office.
