Senior Software Engineer, Voice AI / Backend role in Berlin, suitable for engineers with at least two years of production experience in distributed systems and AI.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain voice AI pipelines, including retrieval and dynamic model routing.
Design distributed call scheduling that manages concurrency, time zones, retries, and provider limits.
Extend conversational agents to voice, messaging, and email while preserving shared context.
Create memory and reasoning components to retain workflow state across interactions.
Develop configuration and debugging tools that integrate with CRM, calendar, and email platforms.
Enhance tracing and resilience to detect and resolve call failures.
Requirements
Minimum two years of experience delivering production software end-to-end.
Proficiency in Python and FastAPI or TypeScript, with hands-on use of PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar stores.
Background in real-time audio processing, voice infrastructure, or production LLM/AI agents.
Understanding of distributed systems concepts such as race conditions, load balancing, and fault tolerance.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Temporal and observability solutions such as OpenTelemetry or Honeycomb.
Full-stack exposure to React is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and focus on customer outcomes.
Nice to Have
Experience with LiveKit, Bun, Node.js, Fastify, and related technologies.
