Role Overview

KAYAK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Meta AI team to build and maintain production software supporting travel search and trip planning. The position requires commuting to the Kaunas office three times per week and submitting a CV written in English.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain production software for travel search and trip-planning products.
Develop APIs and services supporting conversational planning, itineraries, and AI-assisted search functions.
Investigate technical challenges and select practical solutions for performance and reliability.
Write automated tests covering unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
Contribute to specific features like ASK AI, smart filters, and AI-generated review summaries.
Monitor production behavior through root-cause analysis and debugging.

Requirements

Background in building and maintaining production software.
Proficiency in Java or another relevant programming language.
Familiarity with APIs, software-design principles, and data structures.
Experience testing software and resolving defects or production issues.
Ability to explain technical choices clearly and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Good communication skills in English.

Base pay ranging from 3330 EUR to 6660 EUR gross per month.
