Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, the mission is to architect a product ecosystem where reliability, privacy, and performance are paramount. The professional will lead the development of reusable components and resilient architectures to ensure secure and seamless patient interactions. The role requires an onsite presence in the New York City office four days a week and does not offer immigration support. Responsibilities span full-stack ownership, platform modernization, and serving as a technical multiplier across the engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design and drive a unified product engineering strategy prioritizing modularity, reusability, and extreme resiliency.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of products and features, from multi-platform clients to backend services.
Define and enforce standards for high-stakes engineering, ensuring performance, accessibility, and data privacy are integrated into the architecture.
Modernize systems proactively to leverage agentic AI tools that enhance team efficiency and developer productivity.
Build and maintain shared libraries and domain-specific languages to enable rapid deployments for health system partners.
Act as a stabilizing force in complex technical situations, mitigating risk and bringing clarity to ambiguous requirements.
Mentor and elevate the engineering organization by fostering an ownership mindset.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience focused on building customer-facing products from front to back.
Strong professional background in front-to-back-end development utilizing Node and TypeScript.
Proficiency in building resilient APIs supporting critical workflows using GraphQL and TypeScript in middle layers.
Experience developing with the customer in mind, prioritizing functional and non-functional considerations across Web and mobile platforms.
Familiarity with modern agentic development tools like Claude Code.
Background in building reusable frameworks, multi-tenant architectures, or white-label solutions.
Prior experience in high-stakes industries such as HealthTech, ConsumerTech, or Conversational AI.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Nice to Have

Experience with Kotlin or Java as backend languages.
Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform for driving logic sharing across portfolios.
Deep knowledge of data encryption and security best practices.
Experience with healthcare standards including FHIR, HL7, or integrating with electronic health record systems.
