Role Overview

Senior Security Engineer, Product & Infrastructure is a remote position offered by Squads. The person in this role collaborates with the Head of Security, CTO, and engineering teams to oversee product and infrastructure security for platforms like Squads Multisig, Altitude, and Fuse. This practitioner reads code, writes threat models, builds security tooling, and handles vulnerability management for distributed financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in product and engineering discussions to identify security concerns early and lead threat modeling for new architectures.
Conduct hands-on secure code reviews across APIs, backends, frontends, and Solana programs with an emphasis on access control and authorization.
Manage the entire vulnerability lifecycle from audits, bug bounties, and code scanners, including triage, tracking, and fix verification.
Configure and tune SAST, container, dependency, and secrets scanning tools within CI/CD pipelines.
Review cloud environment infrastructure controls, encryption, IAM, and secrets management.

Requirements

Eight or more years of experience in application security, product security, or security engineering backed by a software engineering foundation.
Demonstrated ownership of architecture reviews and threat modeling for complex distributed or financial systems.
Proven track record of discovering critical vulnerabilities in large production codebases written in Rust, TypeScript, Go, or Python using manual and AI-assisted workflows.
Experience establishing and operating end-to-end bug bounty programs, vulnerability management pipelines, and CI/CD security checks.
Deep technical knowledge of container security, network controls, IAM, and secrets management on cloud providers like AWS.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to operate independently.

Nice to Have

Experience reviewing Rust or Anchor Solana programs or working at a security audit firm.
Background in cryptography and key management such as MPC, PKI, or HSMs.
Familiarity with offensive testing for web and mobile applications, AI red teaming, or product-side SOC 2 support.
