Key Responsibilities

Audit the existing security tooling, pipeline coverage, cloud posture, and detection capabilities to create a prioritized roadmap aligned with business goals.
Deliver developer-facing security tooling, including CI/CD checks, dependency tracking, secrets scanning, and secure-by-default libraries.
Conduct structured risk assessments across infrastructure and products to identify vulnerabilities and document necessary changes.
Implement security guardrails and policies for AI engineering pipeline usage to support rapid development safely.
Establish baseline detection and response capabilities, such as logging, alerting, and incident response procedures.
Own the end-to-end security engineering program, including controls, metrics, and internal security platforms that reduce security friction for engineers.

Requirements

Professional background in security engineering focused on shipping automation, building tooling, or owning security infrastructure.
Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to write quality code in languages such as Go, Java, Rust, C, or C++.
Practical experience integrating automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines without hindering development velocity.
Hands-on expertise with AWS cloud security practices, including IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty.
Familiarity with AI and machine learning security threats, such as prompt injection and LLM-assisted attack vectors.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.

Nice to Have

Experience building internal security platforms or developer-focused security tooling.
Background in detection engineering, writing detection rules, tuning signals, and reducing alert fatigue.
Prior experience securing developer infrastructure or networking products.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary ranges by tier, such as Tier 1 locations (SF, LA, Seattle, NYC) offering $218,250 to $266,000, and Tier 2 locations across the rest of the US offering $200,790 to $245,410.
