Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Build detection systems for personally identifiable information, quasi-identifiers, and credentials, applying specific transformations based on data types.
Develop and benchmark detection techniques utilizing rules, classifiers, statistical models, and large language model methods.
Construct production pipelines to anonymize data prior to processing, training, and evaluation workflows.
Design evaluation frameworks focused on privacy risk and retained utility, incorporating leakage tests and adversarial re-identification attempts.
Create robust systems capable of managing schema drift, novel sources, and unexpected sensitive fields.
Collaborate with engineering, research, operations, and customers to translate privacy requirements into practical safeguards.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience creating production data or machine learning systems utilizing Python.
Practical background in personally identifiable information detection, removal, or anonymization techniques.
Background in named-entity recognition, information extraction, and classification methods for sensitive content.
Capability to construct end-to-end data pipelines and evaluate approaches regarding precision, recall, latency, cost, and utility.
Knowledge of masking, redaction, pseudonymization, anonymization, and synthetic data generation.

Nice to Have

Experience handling edge cases and schema drift.
Familiarity with privacy-enhancing methods such as differential privacy, secure aggregation, k-anonymity, or format-preserving encryption.
Background in low-latency or high-throughput machine learning inference and data processing.
