Role Overview
Medal is seeking a Senior Recruiter for AI Research and Engineering to drive the full recruitment lifecycle in New York City. This full-time, in-person position suits an experienced technical recruiter ready to shape the talent function at a rapidly growing frontier lab.
Key Responsibilities
Own the entire recruiting cycle from sourcing strategy to candidate close while building the talent function alongside the Head of Talent. Design and execute interview processes, targeted recruiting campaigns, and long-term talent pools while establishing relationships with industry leaders. Partner directly with research and engineering leaders to understand hiring needs, align on qualifications, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. Leverage modern technology, including AI agents, to streamline workflows such as data-driven sourcing, automated outreach, scheduling, and feedback collection. Build the employer brand within technical and scientific communities through events and creative recruiting strategies.
Requirements
Bring at least five years of full lifecycle technical recruiting experience supporting engineering, AI, and research teams. Demonstrate a proven track record of hiring frontier AI researchers, technical staff, and engineers working on advanced problems like LLMs, multimodal AI, and robotics. Possess a strong technical aptitude to evaluate qualifications across software engineering, data engineering, and machine learning. Show a passion for artificial intelligence and a commitment to staying updated on current technologies. Exhibit an experimental mindset for building recruiting automation systems and a strong existing network within the New York City technical and research community.
