About this role

This role suits an experienced product designer with hands-on expertise in AI surfaces who wants to shape generative interaction models in Auckland. The position is based in Auckland, New Zealand, with options for other office locations.

Role Overview

Partly.com is seeking a Senior Product Designer for AI Products to join its global design team. The position focuses on shaping agentic and generative experiences, defining the design system, and maintaining quality across all company products. The role operates across product teams rather than being embedded in a single backlog, requiring collaboration with Product Leads and engineers to automate administrative tasks for repairers.

Key Responsibilities

Own and evolve the design system used by engineers and coding agents to build AI experiences.
Shape patterns for agentic and generative interfaces, balancing natural language and generated UI.
Define how the product behaves during uncertainty, establishing rules for agent actions, error costs, and human correction.
Establish product character and agent personality across all customer touchpoints.
Monitor and enforce quality standards across the entire product family, fixing inconsistencies at the source.
Build working prototypes using AI tools within the design system and test them with real data.
Partner directly with engineers without traditional hand-offs and review UI produced by coding agents.
Conduct customer research with repairers and suppliers alongside Product Leads.
Write clear principles and rules that both human engineers and models can follow.

Requirements

Senior-level design experience with a track record of running end-to-end projects and changing user behavior.
Demonstrated experience designing agentic experiences, including task allocation, autonomy, and human-in-the-loop flows.
Strong background in systems thinking, including contributions to or building of design systems.
Production-level craft covering interaction design, copywriting, and visual execution for technical tools.
Advanced product judgment capable of translating fuzzy briefs into testable versions and managing trade-offs.
Experience collaborating across multiple product teams while maintaining independent oversight of design standards.
Curiosity about customer workflows and industry domains.
