About this role
Guiding the technical direction of machine learning for Arkose Titan, this role balances hands-on technical contributions with people management in Pune. You will design fraud detection models, review code, and establish MLOps practices while growing and coaching a small team of researchers. The position reports to the SVP of Product and bridges fraud outcomes like false positive rates with the underlying systems.
Arkose Labs provides proactive fraud deterrence platforms to protect global enterprises from spam and abuse driven by modern attacks. The ideal candidate brings extensive technical depth in adversarial domains and a background in translating business metrics into measurable machine learning objectives.
What you will do
- Define and drive the data science and machine learning roadmap across the Arkose Titan platform.
- Lead the development and delivery of models that power real-time fraud and risk decisioning at scale.
- Establish modern MLOps practices including model governance, drift monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Drive applied research in graph machine learning, behavioral analytics, and intelligent fraud detection.
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of machine learning researchers through career development and hiring.
- Contribute directly to model design, feature engineering, architecture reviews, and code pull requests.
- Translate fraud and business metrics into measurable machine learning objectives for stakeholders.
What you need
- Must have 10+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Must have 2+ years of direct experience managing machine learning engineers or data scientists.
- Requires a track record of shipping machine learning systems in adversarial or imbalanced-data domains.
- Must possess strong technical depth to evaluate modeling and architecture choices independently.
- Requires experience across the full machine learning lifecycle from data pipelines to production monitoring.
- Must demonstrate proven people management skills in hiring, coaching, and developing individual contributors.
- Requires excellent cross-functional communication abilities to translate technical trade-offs for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with bot detection, device fingerprinting, behavioral biometrics, or real-time risk scoring
- Experience with low-latency, high-throughput machine learning serving infrastructure
- Familiarity with current machine learning research relevant to fraud and security
- Experience scaling researcher productivity using Agentic AI
