About this role

Camunda is seeking a Senior GTM Systems AI and Automation Engineer to design and operate AI-powered infrastructure for go-to-market systems. This fully remote position is suited for an experienced software engineer looking to build internal automation workflows and remove manual tasks across revenue teams.

Role Overview

The Revenue Operations organization at Camunda looks for a Senior GTM Systems AI and Automation Engineer to manage the artificial intelligence and automation layer connecting internal go-to-market systems. This contributor takes ownership of agents, language model integrations, model context protocol servers, retrieval pipelines, and backend services. Working closely with revenue leaders, the engineer identifies high-impact challenges and deploys reliable, governed solutions iteratively.

Key Responsibilities

Build and operate AI agents, large language model integrations, and automations linking Salesforce, Gainsight, Slack, Salesloft, Clari, HubSpot, and Impartner to reduce manual work across sales, customer success, marketing, partnerships, and account development.
Manage architecture for the artificial intelligence layer including application programming interfaces, context pipelines, reusable agent skills, and serverless services on Google Cloud Platform.
Launch production-grade capabilities with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, function calling, structured outputs, and automated evaluations alongside guardrails like validation and fallback logic.
Collaborate with revenue operations and go-to-market leaders to translate ambiguous requirements into maintainable solutions with clear documentation.
Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment, security governance, and observability.
Design workflows on orchestration platforms and create playbooks so business teams can operate automations independently.

Requirements

Five or more years of software engineering experience in backend development, systems integration, data engineering, or automation.
At least two years of experience shipping large language model or artificial intelligence capabilities into production business workflows or internal tools.
Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript with Git-based development habits including code review and automated testing.
Practical knowledge of large language model patterns, failure modes, mitigations, validation, fallback logic, and cost management.
Experience integrating with Salesforce and other business systems via application programming interfaces and event-driven patterns alongside cloud platforms.
Ability to own problems end-to-end with minimal guidance and communicate clearly in a remote, asynchronous environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with the Model Context Protocol or similar standards, agent frameworks, and vector databases.
Exposure to artificial intelligence observability and evaluation tooling.
Familiarity with orchestration platforms like Camunda or Clay and prior work in business-to-business software revenue operations.
Building lightweight interfaces for artificial intelligence tools or holding Salesforce certifications.
