About this role
Building conversational AI agents, writing Lambda functions and CDK stacks, and developing React-based tooling take up most of the day in this role. Caylent needs a Senior CXE Engineer to operate as a hands-on builder on enterprise contact center transformations for global clients. Engineers in this position spend significant time in code and the AWS console, designing contact flows, handling voice AI error-recovery behavior, and optimizing inference costs on Amazon Bedrock and Claude.
Caylent functions as an AI-first cloud services company that pairs deep AWS expertise with Anthropic platforms to modernize technology for organizations. Candidates who thrive here possess a strong background in full-stack serverless development, infrastructure as code, and client-facing collaboration.
What you will do
- Build conversational AI agents, voice contact flows, and React-based agent and admin tooling while debugging production systems.
- Implement barge-in handling, fallback mechanisms, and error-recovery behavior for voice AI applications.
- Optimize inference cost and latency through model tier selection, prompt caching, and token budgeting.
- Develop serverless event-driven backends using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
- Author infrastructure as code primarily with AWS CDK using TypeScript alongside CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams by pairing on integrations, running technical working sessions, and leading knowledge transfer.
- Contribute reusable assets such as shared CDK constructs and internal tooling back to the practice.
