About this role
The Central Data Products team at GetYourGuide builds, operates, and drives adoption of horizontal data products that empower multiple clusters across the company. These systems power marketplace organization, location and travel category tagging, landing page eligibility frameworks, destination maps, travel-relevance models, and Customer Lifetime Value forecasting.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will own projects from the initial business challenge to the deployment of production code, working closely with data scientists, MLOps engineers, and business stakeholders. You will analyze large datasets, build robust data pipelines, establish evaluation and monitoring strategies, and help shape machine learning infrastructure.

What you will do
- Develop innovative data products that enable suppliers to delight customers and drive company success.
- Take full ownership of projects from initial business challenge to deployment of production code.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover meaningful insights and build robust data pipelines.
- Establish rigorous evaluation and monitoring strategies, in-production guardrails, and post-deployment optimizations.
- Contribute to the development of machine learning infrastructure and help establish best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology and business teams to solve complex problems.
- Support continuous team improvement and growth by participating in recruiting efforts.
What you need
- Bring five or more years of experience deploying machine learning models in production alongside a solid understanding of ML techniques.
- Possess the ability to turn data into actionable insights using hypothesis testing, SQL, Spark, and analytics tools like pandas or polars.
- Demonstrate software engineering proficiency in Python and familiarity with distributed computing frameworks.
- Apply solid business acumen within a fast-paced environment to deliver result-driven work.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hold an advanced degree in a quantitative field or possess equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience working in production with LLMs and Agentic AI
- Prompt design, tool use, and orchestration experience using frameworks like LangChain
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluator design, guardrails, and tracing or observability
