Role Overview

Senior Data Engineer is a remote position located in Poland, designed for technical professionals who want to build modern cloud data platforms and AI systems. This role is ideal for practitioners who combine strong technical delivery with business curiosity to shape data requirements and drive analytics transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data platforms and pipelines on AWS with Databricks or Azure and Fabric with Databricks or native Fabric tooling.
Develop reliable batch, streaming, and near-real-time pipelines utilizing Spark and Delta Lake for structured and unstructured data.
Deliver high-quality datasets to support analytics, machine learning, causal modeling, GenAI use cases, RAG pipelines, and agent-based architectures.
Design scalable logical and physical data models while orchestrating workflows using tools like Airflow, dbt, or Databricks Workflows.
Ensure data governance, lineage, quality, and access control compliance using platforms such as Unity Catalog, AWS Lake Formation, or Microsoft Purview.
Collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience using Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Python, and SQL for building production-grade data pipelines.
Demonstrated expertise in either AWS data services paired with Databricks or Microsoft Azure and Fabric paired with Databricks.
Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, governance principles, lakehouse architectures, and distributed data systems.
Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to refine and challenge business requirements rather than taking them at face value.

Nice to Have

Deep expertise in both AWS and Azure or Fabric tracks.
Experience with generative AI data systems, RAG pipelines, vector databases, and large language model data preparation.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines for data.
Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark optimization, Snowflake, or Google Cloud Platform.
