About this role

Production is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join the team in San Francisco, offering a remote work option. This high-ownership role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to harden cloud infrastructure and protect production environments for demanding enterprise customers.

Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will take charge of securing the production and cloud infrastructure at Anyscale. Reporting directly to the Head of Security and collaborating closely with engineering teams, you will establish the strategic direction for infrastructure safety, environment hardening, network isolation, and continuous monitoring. Success in this position during your first year includes establishing robust runtime security across container footprints and building a defensive architecture that safeguards customer operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the overall security posture for production and cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, focusing on tenant isolation, hardening, and network segmentation.
Oversee runtime security across Kubernetes environments, managing everything from initial deployment to anomaly detection.
Collaborate with engineering groups to design secure infrastructure architecture for production.
Direct cloud security posture management from beginning to end, handling vulnerability triage, prioritization, and driving remediation alongside resource owners.
Create and implement cloud infrastructure security standards covering baseline configurations, secrets management, key management, and infrastructure-as-code security.
Implement fine-grained, role-based access controls to production environments in collaboration with IT and engineering.
Integrate infrastructure findings directly into broader risk reporting and vulnerability management workflows.

Requirements

Bring eight or more years of dedicated experience in security engineering, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure and cloud security, preferably within a fast-paced startup environment.
Demonstrate hands-on proficiency in securing container platforms like Kubernetes alongside multi-cloud setups including Azure and AWS.
Possess a solid foundation in cloud networking, identity and access management in cloud platforms, and infrastructure-as-code.
Show practical experience utilizing CSPM and runtime security tools to turn raw findings into prioritized, actionable tasks.
Exhibit the capability to independently manage cloud infrastructure security, determine strategic direction, and balance tradeoffs across multiple teams.
Demonstrate fluent communication skills to work directly with developers on architectural design and remediation rather than simply generating security reports.

Nice to Have

Background securing multi-tenant production setups or environments executing customer workloads.
Prior experience with Upwind or comparable runtime and CSPM tools.
Direct involvement contributing to ISO 27001 or SOC 2 compliance evidence from an infrastructure perspective.
Previous experience working within AI, machine learning platforms, or distributed computing systems.
