Role Overview

Sentient is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build robust backend systems and cloud infrastructure in Bangalore. The position focuses on developing performance-critical services that support open-source artificial general intelligence research and products.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain fault-tolerant core infrastructure for the platform
Architect performance-critical backend services using AWS and GCP
Implement serverless solutions and optimize cloud resource usage
Develop and maintain REST and WebSocket APIs for artificial intelligence applications
Design secure, reliable end-to-end artificial intelligence workflows containing inference and fine-tuning pipelines
Create custom multi-agent systems and agent frameworks
Manage the complete release process from development through UAT to production
Apply security measures such as encryption, IAM, and security groups
Produce comprehensive documentation for transparency and reproducibility

Requirements

Five or more years of practical experience creating large applications and end-to-end infrastructure
Advanced knowledge of the Python programming language
Proficiency with major cloud computing, networking, storage, database, serverless, and monitoring services on AWS and GCP
Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform
Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence, large language models, datasets, and inference
