Role Overview

The Senior Applied AI Engineer will direct the development of production-ready artificial intelligence capabilities from initial concept through deployment and continuous iteration. The position centers on building systems that help Fortune 500 marketing teams navigate AI-driven search, commerce, and advertising.

Key Responsibilities

Manage entire artificial intelligence capabilities, converting product requirements into technical designs, research plans, and deployed solutions.
Design and enhance core algorithms alongside production-grade agents for market research, performance marketing, and automated machine learning.
Transform research concepts into maintainable software featuring automated tests, data pipelines, and clear interfaces.
Oversee production quality by tracking system performance, reducing latency, managing costs, and resolving failure cases.
Guide technical decisions by balancing statistical methods, classical machine learning, and language models.
Deliver hands-on technical leadership through code reviews, design evaluations, and collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Requirements

Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
Minimum of five years working in data science or applied machine learning, supplemented by at least two years in software or machine learning engineering maintaining production deployments.
Demonstrated ownership of major artificial intelligence features taken from ambiguous concepts to customer-facing products.
Solid foundations in machine learning, statistics, evaluation frameworks, natural language processing, embeddings, and clustering.
Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and SQL, coupled with rigorous software engineering standards including version control and modular architecture.
Practical background creating production-level applications powered by large language models and agents, including tool calling and context management.
Cloud environment operations experience covering containerization, continuous integration and deployment pipelines, logging, and monitoring.

Nice to Have

Background as a primary technical contributor in a fast-growing startup scaling new products.
Domain knowledge in advertising technology, marketing analytics, search, ranking, information retrieval, or recommendation engines.
Exposure to agent frameworks and software development kits like LangChain or comparable developer tooling.
History of constructing reliable systems featuring traceability, explainability, and approval workflows.
