Role Overview

Riskified is hiring a Senior AI Platform Engineer for its central Lisbon-based team. The position involves guiding the company from AI experimentation toward productized, AI-driven architectures. The professional will partner with the Chief Architect, CTO, and various business units to build foundational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain reusable AI capabilities including models, tools, APIs, and platforms for internal and customer-facing solutions.
Develop and maintain an internal Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to provide AI agents with secure data access.
Create evaluation frameworks and AI guardrails to ensure model reliability and protect organizational value.
Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
Own projects end-to-end from requirement gathering through deployment and ongoing operation.
Guide other departments in leveraging created platforms and accelerate company-wide AI adoption.

Requirements

Five or more years of backend and server-side development experience building scalable systems.
Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, with Python preferred.
Experience in translating non-technical requirements from product, business development, and account management partners into technical solutions.
DevOps background with ownership over the full lifecycle of development, deployment, and operation.
Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
High proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools like Copilot, Cursor, or equivalents.
Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

Experience with agentic coding tools including Claude Code or Copilot CLI.
Familiarity with agentic frameworks like Strands Agents, RAG architectures, and Bedrock.
Prior work utilizing the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Comfort operating within containerized environments.

Salary and Benefits

The gross annual base salary ranges from €65,000 to €75,000 for candidates located in Lisbon, determined by individual competencies and experience.
