Role Overview

Paddle is hiring a Senior AI Engineer for a full-time position located in the UK. This builder's role involves working closely with marketing, sales, and revenue operations to design, prototype, and deploy production-ready AI systems. The successful candidate will own the complete lifecycle of these systems, focusing on evaluation, observability, reliability, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construct AI-powered systems intended for account segmentation, enrichment, scoring, prioritisation, and buying-signal detection.
Create and deploy agentic workflows covering use cases such as account research, outbound personalisation, call summarisation, and CRM hygiene.
Write production-quality code alongside the necessary data pipelines, services, and integrations to transition solutions from prototypes to daily utility.
Fine-tune systems for performance, latency, and expenditure via techniques like prompt design, model selection, routing, caching, evaluation, and token optimisation.
Set up practical architectural patterns including monitoring, safety guardrails, documentation, and tangible business impact metrics.

Requirements

Possess robust software engineering capabilities to independently steer a problem from technical design to production readiness, with particular relevance given to Python and SQL background.
Demonstrate practical experience constructing applications utilising large language models, retrieval systems, APIs, agents, and other applied artificial intelligence technologies.
Comprehend the operational requirements of running AI systems in production, addressing reliability, hallucination risks, latency limits, context windows, and variable model costs.
Exhibit comfort managing structured and unstructured data while consolidating information from diverse sources into functional systems.
Display an interest in commercial concepts like ideal customer profiles, sales pipelines, buyer intent, and market segmentation.
