Role Overview

The Security Engineer serves as the primary owner of product and application security. The professional works alongside the Head of Security and collaborates with engineering and product teams to detect and resolve vulnerabilities, enforce secure building practices, and deliver API-first and AI-powered products with robust security measures.

Key Responsibilities

Own product and application security across APIs, integrations, agent tooling, and AI features.
Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and code reviews targeting application-layer vulnerabilities.
Drive vulnerability identification and remediation through the full software development lifecycle.
Build and mature the application security program, including SAST/DAST tooling and CI/CD testing.
Utilize AI to test application and system resiliency.
Manage the bug bounty program from triage to remediation and researcher communication.
Partner with engineering to embed secure design patterns into software delivery.
Support infrastructure and cloud security regarding the product surface.

Requirements

Three to six or more years of security engineering experience focused on product or application security.
Familiarity with application security concepts like OWASP, vulnerability classes, secure API design, and authorization patterns.
Experience conducting threat modeling and secure code reviews.
Hands-on experience with application security tooling and CI/CD security integration.
Ability and desire to code in at least one major programming language, including reading and writing code.
Background in a SaaS or API-driven environment, with knowledge of multi-tenant systems.
Interest in supporting other security areas when necessary.

Nice to Have

Experience with AI or LLM security, agent security, or securing data-heavy API platforms.
