Role Overview

The Robotics Systems Software Integration Engineer joins the Robotics Systems team to manage software integration and release cycles. Responsibilities include coordinating with product and engineering departments, setting release readiness standards, and collaborating with quality assurance teams to ensure stable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Control the release schedule by assembling each version and pinning compatible, reproducible repository versions.
Maintain updated regression, stress, and endurance test plans with definitive pass or fail criteria as the software stack grows.
Analyze robot logs to investigate failures, reproduce regressions, and implement or coordinate fixes through the merge and retest cycle.
Deploy software updates to customer robots and internal fleets while explaining changes clearly to technical and non-technical teams.
Track field release health, deploy rapid hotfixes, and expand overall test coverage.

Requirements

Three or more years of experience delivering software for complex products, vehicles, or robots where hardware and software intersect.
Working knowledge of C++ or Python, alongside the ability to read and debug unfamiliar codebases.
Practical experience with continuous integration systems and git workflows, including branching, merging, cherry-picking, and managing release branches.
Strong systems debugging capabilities to isolate failures using logs and code, recreate issues, and determine paths to resolution.
Background in creating test plans and setting evaluation criteria for systems that exceed standard unit testing coverage.
Demonstrated history of cross-functional coordination and maintaining quality standards under tight timelines.
Written communication skills suited for explaining technical modifications to support, operations, and product colleagues.

Nice to Have

Background deploying software updates to remote device fleets using staged rollouts and rollbacks.
Familiarity with automated on-device testing or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Exposure to real-time robotics software stacks such as autonomy, perception, or controls.
Past experience in technical program management, release engineering, or quality assurance within mixed hardware and software companies.
