Working within a remote setup based in India, the person in this role will build full-stack features and integrate Generative AI capabilities into the learning platform. Team members utilize AI-assisted development tools daily and make pragmatic trade-offs to ship reliable software that improves outcomes for students and operators. Ideal candidates bring strong full-stack foundations, practical cloud experience, and a collaborative mindset for working closely with non-technical stakeholders.
What you will do
- Collaborate directly with operational partners to analyze workflows and translate constraints into scoped software solutions.
- Manage features from end to end across data models, backend logic, frontend interfaces, deployment, and post-launch iteration.
- Implement GenAI capabilities such as LLM integrations, retrieval systems, agents, and workflow automations to improve user outcomes.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools like coding agents and automated code reviews as part of daily engineering routines.
- Maintain high reliability through thorough testing, code reviews, production support, and strategic management of technical debt.
- Communicate development progress, architectural trade-offs, and scope decisions clearly to non-technical team members.
- Lead ambiguous, multi-stakeholder projects and mentor fellow engineers for candidates joining at the senior level.
What you need
- Bring a minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrate strong full-stack proficiency with backend technologies like Python and Django alongside frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Possess solid database skills encompassing SQL and practical data modeling.
- Have hands-on production experience deploying, operating, and debugging services on major cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Show direct experience building features using LLM APIs and utilizing AI coding tools in daily engineering workflows.
- Display a proven track record of shipping products end to end alongside business or operational users.
- Communicate clearly and directly with non-technical team members and stakeholders.

- Kubernetes (GKE) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with an LMS, especially Canvas
- BigQuery, analytics pipelines, or event instrumentation such as Segment

Where is this role located?
This is a remote role based in India. Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in India to be considered for this position.
What level of experience is required?
A minimum of 4 years of experience in the industry is required. Depending on experience, you will join as a Software Engineer II or Senior Software Engineer.
