Role Overview
As a Product Designer at Thunkable, professionals tackle complex challenges spanning the engineering, marketing, and product departments. Team members take ownership of the specific projects and features they introduce to the market. The position involves close collaboration with the engineering division to define features, alongside partnerships with the marketing team to boost growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate user behaviors and obstacles through usability testing, customer chats, user research, and interviews.
Build straightforward user flows and interaction patterns while building upon the existing design system.
Produce refined, high-grade interfaces focused on visual clarity, accessibility, and consistency.
Team up with product and engineering groups to turn intricate technical setups into clean user experiences.
Build prototypes and iterate rapidly while balancing execution speed and craftsmanship in a startup environment.
Articulate design choices clearly, linking user experience selections directly to business goals and product strategy.
Work alongside data, marketing, product, and engineering teams to push ideas from initial concept to launch.
Elevate overall design standards, interaction quality, and platform consistency.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of professional background in product design, backed by fundamentals in UX research, visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.
Demonstrated portfolio highlighting thoughtful product logic, refined visual execution, and end-to-end design achievements.
Proficiency in modern prototyping and design software, specifically Figma.
Background operating inside a fast-moving, growth-stage startup.
Strong design skills with a dedication to crafting practical and visually appealing experiences.
Capacity to reason from first principles, distill complexity, and deliver refined answers.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, execute rapid iteration, and handle zero-to-one product development.
Product intuition and ownership mentality to independently lead projects from start to finish.
Technical familiarity for partnering closely with engineering teams on developer workflows, AI-native products, or complex technical frameworks.
Understanding of mobile app ecosystems, responsive user experience patterns, and mobile-first design.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, featuring the ability to draft concise product copy.
Nice to Have
Background utilizing modern AI-driven creative and design applications like ChatGPT, Claude, AI-assisted prototyping utilities, or AI-native workflows to speed up iteration and ideation.
Experience designing generative AI or AI-native solutions.
Understanding of front-end development, design system implementation, or technical engineering collaboration.
Experience designing mobile-first applications, creator utilities, developer platforms, or low-code and no-code solutions.
