About this role

This remote role suits an experienced software architect seeking a hands-on leadership position building production-grade artificial intelligence agent platforms. The candidate will direct technical strategies and build core infrastructure for DevSavant in LATAM.

Role Overview

The Principal Engineer and Architect acts as the senior-most technical authority for the platform. This position involves designing system integrations, data layers, APIs, infrastructure, security models, and autonomous AI agents while collaborating with the Director of Engineering and a distributed team of senior developers.

Key Responsibilities

Architect the core platform by designing client system connections, data normalization storage, dashboard data delivery, and tool integrations while building primary framework skeletons.
Build and monitor production artificial intelligence agent systems, covering agent design, tool utilization, guardrails, evaluations, and failure mode handling.
Direct cloud and infrastructure operations by managing deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, system observability, and runtime cost optimization.
Establish security protocols and multi-tenant architectures focused on tenant isolation, secrets management, least-privilege access, and audit trails.
Lead technical standards through code reviews, written specifications, and architectural guidance for a distributed team of senior engineers.
Engage directly with clients and design partners for complex architectural discussions.

Requirements

Minimum of eight years of professional software engineering experience with recent hands-on ownership of major system architecture.
Practical background using TypeScript, Node.js, React, Remix or React Router v8, Tailwind, ShadCN, Drizzle ORM, Zod, PostgreSQL, Redis, and PgBoss.
Demonstrated history of shipping and monitoring real large language model agent systems in production environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, chunking strategies, and vector data workflows.
Hands-on background managing infrastructure, uptime, CI/CD, observability, and production incidents.
Platform hosting and runtime experience across AWS or GCP environments.
Experience integrating third-party APIs involving webhooks, incremental polling, idempotency, retries, and data normalization.
Strong data modeling capabilities in relational and event-driven architectures.
Practical understanding of multi-tenant SaaS security, audit logs, and access controls.
Strong written communication skills in both English and Spanish to support remote asynchronous engineering leadership.

Nice to Have

Official AWS or GCP Cloud Architect certifications.
Familiarity with agent frameworks like OpenClaw, MCP, or A2A.
Background using Infrastructure as Code, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Previous exposure to graph databases and knowledge graphs.
Early-stage startup experience building products from zero to one.
