Role Overview

The Principal AI Architect operates as a senior technical authority on cross-functional teams, defining architectures across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and artificial intelligence workloads. Key Responsibilities

Define technical strategy and lead architectural design across cloud, data, and machine learning systems for end-to-end client engagements
Design scalable cloud-native solutions encompassing multi-cloud and hybrid strategies
Build data architectures including data warehouses, lakes, and pipelines for streaming and batch workloads
Develop AI and machine learning systems covering model serving, MLOps pipelines, feature stores, and language model applications
Establish infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and DevOps standards across all projects
Ensure architectural frameworks meet security, governance, and compliance regulations
Partner with clients and senior leadership to align technical direction with business objectives
Mentor experienced engineers and architects to enhance technical judgment and delivery impact

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
At least 5 years of experience in technical leadership roles
Deep expertise in cloud platforms, microservices, serverless designs, containers, and event-driven architectures
Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools and CI/CD pipelines
Comprehensive data architecture background across relational, NoSQL, and big data systems alongside ETL and orchestration experience
Hands-on production experience designing AI and machine learning systems, including large language models and MLOps
Strong software engineering capabilities including Python, APIs, and containerization

Nice to Have

Multi-cloud architecture experience
Background in AI ethics or responsible AI practices
Enterprise architecture certifications such as TOGAF or cloud vendor credentials
Experience designing AI and machine learning solutions that integrate with SAP EAM data structures using SAP BTP or cloud-native APIs
