About this role
The unified AI Platform Team at DRW builds centralized software, operations, and governance layers that safely route users to cost-effective models while balancing an exponentially growing cost curve. A Platform Engineer is needed to help build and operationalize the firm's AI tooling ecosystem by connecting external cloud AI providers, internal models, and end-user tools into a unified control plane. Working alongside the Team Lead and senior software engineers, the person in this role will handle multi-engine API gateways, tool migrations, and usage synchronization loops.
Success in this position requires strong backend programming skills in Go or Python, along with familiarity with distributed system networking and API design. Individuals who enjoy working collaboratively to replace prototype systems with clean, maintainable code will thrive in this environment. The organization operates with a shared responsibility model, partnering closely with cloud and inference infrastructure pods to manage enterprise AI services and self-hosted models.
What you will do
- Configure and manage multi-engine API gateways by implementing fallback logic, rate limits, and dynamic routing rules for LLM requests.
- Execute technical migrations and integrations of firm-wide tools into a centralized management plane to secure and govern all AI traffic.
- Manage AI services deployed in enterprise landing zones, including Azure OpenAI instances, model deployments, and API key generation.
- Write robust Go and Python code to support continuous synchronization loops for usage dashboards and build automated alert mechanisms.
- Partner with the Inference Infrastructure pod to ensure self-hosted, on-premise models are registered and routable within the AI gateways.
What you need
- Demonstrated backend programming experience utilizing Go and Python.
- Practical background in API design, integration, and platform or cloud engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with distributed system networking, proxy configuration, or API gateways.
- Genuine interest in the technical mechanics of AI tooling and the rapidly evolving LLM ecosystem.

What is the salary range for this position?
The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $190,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
