Role Overview

Working on a small team alongside designers, platform engineers, and model creators, the selected candidate will define the way the technology feels in the user's hand by shipping an application that handles streaming responses, voice input, and vision seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Build and own the complete Hark iOS app, handling architecture, user interface, performance, and the entire end-to-end user experience.
Ship features that integrate real-time artificial intelligence capabilities, such as streaming data, voice inputs, tool invocations, and multimodal interactions.
Collaborate directly with designers to craft interfaces that are fast, polished, and trustworthy.
Optimize system performance across every layer, including startup times, animation smoothness, memory efficiency, and network latency.
Manage components from design and implementation through testing, launch, and ongoing iteration.
Partner with platform and backend teams regarding APIs, data contracts, and integration with the agent runtime.
Instrument released features to track performance, catch regressions, and drive improvements based on actual usage.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional iOS engineering experience.
Strong expertise in Swift, accompanied by deep knowledge of UIKit, SwiftUI, and iOS system design principles.
Proven history of building responsive, high-performance mobile applications with a focus on optimizing latency, memory, and real-time interactions.
Experience designing and shipping intuitive user experiences that demonstrate high attention to detail and product craft.
Familiarity with concurrency patterns like async/await and Combine for constructing real-time interactive apps.
Experience integrating with backend systems and artificial intelligence services via REST and streaming APIs for reliable data flow.
Demonstrated capability to own features completely from initial concept to deployment.

Nice to Have

Experience contributing to artificial intelligence or agent-driven applications involving voice, multimodal input, or real-time communication.
Strong product intuition for translating emerging artificial intelligence capabilities into natural, useful user-facing experiences.
Background working in early-stage or zero-to-one environments with a history of fast shipping and iterative updates based on user feedback.
Familiarity with the broader Apple ecosystem, including AVFoundation, Core ML, or real-time media processing frameworks.
Comfort collaborating across the stack with backend and AI teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end features.
