AI-forward leaders with product engineering backgrounds will thrive in this role at Datadog. The Database Monitoring group operates as one of the fastest growing segments of the business, going beyond standard metrics to build self-healing loops for customers. Specifically, the engineering team is constructing an autonomous agent designed to detect, remediate, validate, and deploy database optimizations.
This leadership position exists to guide these critical initiatives from inception and take ownership of the business lines depending on them. The person in this position will recruit and mentor engineering managers and staff engineers across multiple geographies while partnering closely with Product counterparts. Daily responsibilities include launching new capabilities, directing technical delivery alongside go-to-market strategies, and using customer feedback to shape the product roadmap.
What you will do
- Launch new products and businesses into new markets while driving adoption and commercial success.
- Use customer feedback and product data to guide investment and technical delivery.
- Challenge the team to discover new vectors for market penetration with the goal of reaching every company using a database.
- Own the product roadmap for Database Monitoring, focusing heavily on AI features and developer personas.
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineering managers and staff engineers across multiple geographic locations.
What you need
- Bring hands-on experience partnering directly with customers to refine product experiences and find product-market fit.
- Take ownership beyond product delivery by leading go-to-market strategy and driving adoption.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of scaling exceptional product engineering teams through hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Possess experience deploying applications on Postgres.
