About this role
Celonis is building a trusted platform to industrialize Enterprise AI through its Process Intelligence platform and Context Model, which combines process data and business knowledge into a digital twin of the enterprise. The Lead Applied Value Engineer will solve business-critical problems for strategic customers within the High Tech Vertical, partnering with clients to understand objectives like supply chain resilience and margin expansion. This person will combine the Process Intelligence platform with AI and ML technologies from partners like Microsoft, OpenAI, and Databricks to build innovative solutions that drive measurable impact.
This role exists to bridge operational data from enterprise systems with AI capabilities, helping clients operationalize AI and realize real ROI at scale. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements within the High Tech space, coupled with deep domain expertise in areas like inventory management and supply chain operations. A successful engineer in this position excels at translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure AI solutions while communicating effectively with executive stakeholders.
What you will do
- Understand customers' AI strategies and sector-specific challenges to find the best problem-solution fit and translate business requirements into innovative solutions.
- Drive the full customer lifecycle by leading technical discovery and capability demonstrations during pre-sales and guiding implementation post-sale.
- Leverage modern AI technologies to rapidly build creative prototypes during customer hackathons to solve critical pain points.
- Shift customers from rule-based automation to autonomous AI agents empowered by Process Intelligence to ensure real ROI on AI deployments.
- Architect and execute business-critical Proof-of-Value projects, delivering secure and scalable LLM or agent systems with RAG, tools, and guardrails.
- Serve as the primary technical subject expert for the High Tech sector and scale deep domain expertise across the organization.
- Champion modern distribution initiatives by specializing in warehouse management system optimization and fulfillment center workflows.
- Act as a technical advisor on omnichannel and DTC transformation to optimize order-to-cash cycles and returns processing.
What you need
- Have 8 or more years of experience leading end-to-end technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements within the High Tech space.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to define AI roadmaps, build compelling ROI and TCO business cases, and guide technical implementations to value realization.
- Possess a deep understanding of High Tech business processes with in-depth experience in domains such as inventory management or supply chain.
- Bring solid knowledge of Python and common machine learning libraries like LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, and PyTorch.
- Demonstrate strong data engineering tool experience relevant to handling large-scale POS, transactional, and inventory data.
- Exhibit strong presentation and storytelling skills for internal and external stakeholders ranging from C-level executives to supply chain leaders.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree, or a Master's Degree in computer science, business analytics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience building agentic systems using LLM orchestration, RAG, function calling, and prompt engineering
- Working knowledge of open source packages like LangChain or LlamaIndex
- Experience deploying and monitoring models at scale across major cloud platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, and GCP Vertex
- Familiarity with enterprise data structures including SAP, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Snowflake, and POS formats
- Expertise in generative AI techniques for building high-impact use cases like automated customer service workflows

The base salary range for the role in New York is $196,000 to $230,000 USD. The total compensation package also includes bonus or commission, equity, and benefits.
