Role Overview

Capital Technology Group seeks a Lead AI/ML Engineer to oversee the creation, assessment, and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions for federal programs. The professional will direct technical evaluations, communicate implementation risks to stakeholders, and mentor team members while collaborating directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct technical assessments of emerging artificial intelligence tools via prototypes and proof of concepts.
Communicate technology benefits, tradeoffs, and risks to business and technical audiences.
Build and release production-ready machine learning applications inside AWS cloud infrastructure.
Support development, operations, and security tasks within cloud-native environments.
Guide enterprise adoption of modern engineering standards and technologies.
Train, construct, evaluate, and refine machine learning models for operational environments.
Partner alongside clients and multidisciplinary engineers to deliver critical solutions.
Provide technical guidance through mentoring and support for junior staff growth.
Deliver technical presentations and architectural advice to internal leaders and federal customers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline like Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics, or equivalent practical background.
Seven to ten years of professional background in software or cloud engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of background deploying production enterprise applications utilizing AWS.
Minimum of 2 years of background deploying production artificial intelligence or machine learning applications in enterprise settings.
Proficiency in Python programming.
Background utilizing machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Experience using platforms and services including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Hugging Face, or Weights & Biases.
Data manipulation and analysis proficiency using pandas.
Experiment visualization experience using matplotlib.
U.S. citizenship requirement.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to Have

Background in leading or managing technical teams.
Mentorship experience supporting machine learning or software engineers.
Background working with Large Language Models, Generative AI, RAG, or AI agents.
Deployment experience utilizing MLOps practices.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes containerization.
Pipeline building background for artificial intelligence workloads via CI/CD.
Knowledge of DevSecOps and secure software development.
Support experience within federal or regulated mission-critical environments.
