This IT & Security Manager role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and security of FAR.AI as the organization scales. The individual will operate with a security-minded engineering mindset, focusing on understanding potential attack vectors and ensuring systems are robust under pressure rather than simply meeting compliance checklists. This role exists to address growing risks associated with frontier AI work and to strengthen the organization's security posture against AI-driven threats.
The ideal candidate thrives on owning complex systems and proactively identifying root causes for security issues. They will be instrumental in defining the IT infrastructure and security framework for the organization's growth, taking ownership from foundational systems to team development.
What you will do
- The manager will own the core internal IT systems end-to-end, including identity and access management, device management, and the FAR.Labs office network.
- This involves actively working through documented security gaps, prioritizing remediation efforts based on assessed risk.
- Responsibilities include implementing access controls, hardening endpoints, and managing data protection and governance.
- The role requires designing systems and processes with cross-functional teams to reduce manual operational work.
- The manager will collaborate with research, operations, and communications teams to embed security practices within their domains.
- A key function is building the team by hiring, managing, and developing an in-person IT Coordinator.
- This role also involves managing internal communication to ensure changes are rolled out effectively.
