Role Overview

The Instructional Video Designer builds custom instructional videos, animations, and motion graphics that transform complex software concepts into clear learning experiences. Operating with creative autonomy, the professional handles visual storytelling, pacing, and structure while managing concurrent projects and maintaining brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and produce custom instructional videos, content videos, animations, and motion graphics.
Develop, create, and package SCORM-compliant curriculum.
Write scripts, narration, and on-screen text to clarify technical product concepts.
Partner with instructional designers to build storyboards matching learning objectives with video output.
Scope and handle multiple concurrent projects, determining level of effort, timelines, and delivery sequencing.
Organize and maintain footage libraries, production libraries, and project assets to ensure proper version control.
Update project milestones, task progress, and PSA records for cross-functional alignment.
Utilize established AI-assisted workflows and large language models to streamline production quality.
Coordinate cross-functionally with editors, instructional designers, and project leads.

Requirements

Possess three to five or more years of experience in video editing, motion design, or instructional media creation.
Demonstrate the ability to write original instructional scripts, media assets, and visual narratives.
Show familiarity with learning management systems and SCORM-compliant packaging.
Exhibit project management capabilities to handle multiple concurrent projects.
Apply large language models, custom GPTs, or AI workflows to improve production efficiency.

Nice to Have

Experience working within SaaS, restaurant, or technology education environments.
Background in instructional design or learning and development.
Experience mentoring peers in storytelling, visual design, or production processes.
