Role Overview

Head of AI Native Operations is a full-time remote role at Supabase that involves leading a central team to build an AI-native internal operating system and embed AI operations across the organization. Key Responsibilities

Own the maturity model end-to-end, including the rubric, scoring method, evidence standard, and appeals path.

Define operational standards for work tracking, decision resolution, shared tooling migration, and stale documentation retirement.

Fix decision processes by establishing stages, exit criteria, and closing mechanisms for written proposals.

Manage the operating cadence, lead automated weekly reporting, and replace meetings with automated reports.

Execute private assessments followed by pre-committed public transparency dates.

Integrate operational standards directly into employee onboarding.

Hire, direct, and grow two senior individual contributors focused on platform and enablement.

Measure and publish outcomes regarding how much coordination work agents absorb.

Requirements

Experience running operating cadence and program discipline at a company growing from approximately 200 to 800 people in a remote and async environment.

Practical experience building agentic AI workflows that others depend on, with the ability to review workflow definitions, data models, and pull requests.

Track record of taking a standard from zero to company-wide adoption without direct authority over adopters.

Exceptional writing skills and ability to use documents as enforcement mechanisms.

Comfort with being graded publicly by the system you build alongside other teams.

Nice to Have

Deep software engineering background.

Experience running a maturity model or capability assessment across unowned teams with published results.

Native familiarity with Git, Markdown, and Pull Requests.

Experience permanently eliminating a recurring meeting by replacing it with an automated system.
