Zenni Optical is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Engineer to join the Commercial Operations team based in Shanghai, China. This position suits a proactive developer with a background in e-commerce who wants to build robust platforms and scalable technical solutions.

Role Overview

In this role, the engineer will build and refine platforms, services, and internal tools that drive commercial operations, marketing campaigns, and promotional activities. Responsibilities cover the complete product lifecycle, from clarifying technical requirements and evaluating solutions to frontend and backend implementation, metric monitoring, and performance enhancement. The individual will automate business workflows, tackle complex engineering challenges, and collaborate closely with global, cross-functional teams including product, design, QA, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and evolve platforms and internal tools supporting commercial operations and promotions.

Convert commercial and operational objectives into reliable, full-stack launch plans and solutions.

Automate and reshape business processes to maximize reliability and speed to market.

Monitor and define key engineering performance metrics to ensure continuous system improvement.

Coordinate with global colleagues on company-wide technical initiatives.

Utilize artificial intelligence tools and techniques to speed up development and bring new capabilities to the commercial team.

Follow web technology trends and user behavior patterns to guide technical strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of general professional experience, featuring at least 2 years focused on full-stack web development.

Deep expertise in TypeScript, including strict mode configurations.

Strong command of Next.js and modern React patterns, such as Hooks, Context API, SSR/SSG, and App Router.

Backend development experience using Node.js or Java, building microservices and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.

Direct familiarity with e-commerce domain models covering catalogs, carts, checkouts, orders, payments, promotions, and inventory.

Practical background working with relational or NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching systems.

Knowledge of Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query, and contemporary data-fetching strategies.

Understanding of AI-assisted development and LLM integration into workflows.

Ability to write thorough unit tests and end-to-end tests.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese for interactions with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Nice to Have

Experience constructing internal tools, workflow automation, or internal platforms.

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and continuous integration or continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
