Role Overview

Clera is hiring a Founding Engineer to work on-site in Berlin. The position is ideal for full-stack engineers with at least three years of production experience who want to shape AI-driven procurement tools.

Key Responsibilities

Create and deliver full-stack features from initial discovery to production deployment.
Develop AI-enabled workflows, including context handling, tool integration, evaluation, and observability.
Design reliable LLM pipelines with evaluation loops and safeguards, balancing latency, cost, and quality.
Build real-time data pipelines, data normalization, and integrations with enterprise systems.
Define architectural direction for performance, security, and developer experience; participate in code reviews and team practices.
Release updates frequently and incorporate customer feedback to improve quality.

Requirements

Minimum three years of full-stack engineering experience delivering production features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
Production-grade proficiency with TypeScript and Python, and experience using Next.js.
Hands-on work with large language models, retrieval systems, and embeddings, understanding trade-offs and workflow evaluation.
Strong knowledge of APIs, databases, and full-stack system design, especially for data-intensive products and enterprise integrations.
Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and reliable delivery in a small or entrepreneurial product team.
Clear communication skills and sound judgment.
