Role Overview

Goaly is a stealth artificial intelligence startup founded by former Meta Superintelligence Labs engineers and researchers. The company focuses on lowering the cost, time, and talent barriers required to build proprietary artificial intelligence models. As the first developer relations hire, the successful candidate will serve as the technical voice of the company, splitting time between technical development and community distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Build public post-training efficiency benchmarks, reproducible case studies, and open-source tools.
Write documentation, quickstarts, and example integrations for common stacks such as PyTorch distributed, Megatron, FSDP, TorchTitan, Ray, Slurm, GPU Kubernetes, W&B, and MLflow.
Create technical content including deep-dive engineering posts, benchmark write-ups, failure-mode teardowns, and demo videos.
Manage technical presence on platforms like X, LinkedIn, GitHub, Hacker News, and messaging communities, while landing talks at industry venues.
Serve as a feedback loop by sitting with design partners, reproducing issues, and providing prioritized feedback to the engineering team.
Facilitate practitioner conversations, office hours, and educational series focused on post-training efficiency.
Amplify the founding team's experience by turning insights into content, talks, and design-partner pipelines.
Track and measure reach, repository adoption, documentation funnels, and inbound requests.

Requirements

Three or more years of experience as a software or machine learning engineer with active coding responsibilities.
Hands-on experience with LLM post-training or underlying infrastructure including SFT, RL, LoRA, DPO, PyTorch distributed, Megatron, DeepSpeed, FSDP, Ray, Slurm, or GPU Kubernetes.
Proven track record of explaining complex technical topics clearly through blogs, documentation, talks, or tutorials.
Demonstrable reach or audience within the machine learning infrastructure and post-training community.
Strong written communication skills tailored for technical practitioners alongside active listening abilities.
Comfort operating in an early-stage environment without an established playbook.

Nice to Have

Prior developer relations, developer advocate, or technical evangelist experience at an artificial intelligence infrastructure or developer-platform company.
Status as a maintainer or notable contributor to a widely used machine learning or infrastructure open-source project.
Experience running developer communities, meetups, hackathons, or workshops.
Comfort presenting on video, on stage, or on podcasts.
Familiarity with observability and profiling tools such as W&B, MLflow, Nsight, and PyTorch Profiler.
Sales-engineering or forward-deployed engineering experience.
