Role Overview

Professionals in this position handle full-cycle research spanning problem definition, data management, training, evaluation, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the research agenda encompassing model design, training methodologies, evaluation protocols, and publication strategies

Guide models from initial benchmark performance to live customer shadow deployments using defined and defended criteria

Establish benchmark discipline by prioritizing strong baselines and verifiable comparables

Direct and expand a compact team including machine learning engineers, data engineers, and contractors while collaborating with founders and platform personnel

Author internal technical documents and external papers when findings support publication

Requirements

Possess a PhD in machine learning or a related field, or demonstrate an equivalent research record

Bring practical experience training sequence models, controlling tokenizers, managing training loops, and handling evaluations rather than relying solely on API fine-tuning

Demonstrate background in at least two areas: reinforcement learning focusing on offline and imitation settings, sequence decision modeling, structured or constrained generation, or learning from event and log data

Show a history of delivering research into products or achieving rigorous benchmark outcomes
