Rematiq-gmbh is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Berlin to build tailored software solutions directly with MedTech clients, suiting software engineers who thrive in client-facing environments. Role Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer collaborates directly with client teams to understand regulatory workflows and develop custom applications or platform features. This position combines software engineering with technical client engagement, partnering closely with the platform team, Product, and AI Deployment Strategists.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with client subject-matter experts to define workflows and establish delivery timelines of a few weeks.

Develop and launch end-to-end solutions spanning backend services, user interfaces, AI workflows, and system integrations.

Maintain production systems, resolve issues, and act as the primary technical point of contact for clients.

Integrate the platform with existing enterprise development and quality systems.

Transition custom client implementations into reusable platform features alongside the platform team.

Identify new use cases during client engagements and collaborate with delivery teams on scope.

Requirements

Three or more years of software engineering experience delivering production software, preferably in customer-facing or solutions engineering contexts.

Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend services, with ability to contribute to React frontends.

Database knowledge including PostgreSQL data modeling, migrations, and optimization.

Experience integrating products with enterprise systems through APIs, SSO, or data exchange within IT and security limits.

Background deploying LLM-driven features into production environments.

Capability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and communicate technical trade-offs.

Daily use of AI coding assistants like Cursor and Claude Code.

Ability to travel to client sites when required.

Mandatory fluency in English.

Nice to Have

Experience in forward deployed or customer-embedded engineering.

Background building software for regulated sectors such as MedTech or pharmaceuticals.

Previous experience as a startup founder or early-stage engineer.

Background as a product manager or team lead managing scope and priorities.

Proficiency in the German language.
