About this role

The Munich-based Safety team operates at the intersection of autonomous driving development and regulatory engagement, specifically focusing on building lasting trust with regional authorities. Daily efforts center on direct outreach, educational program design, and serving as the primary bridge between internal engineering units and municipal responders.

Building robust relationships with German emergency services requires an individual with extensive operational credibility and sophisticated communication skills. • Represent the organization at industry events and panels to bridge the gap between emergency services and autonomous vehicle technology.
  • Architect robust communication channels that capture responder feedback and route it directly into internal engineering teams.
  • Orchestrate internal alignment by translating operational responder insights into actionable strategic improvements for engineering and operations.

What you need

  • Bring 15 or more years of service in German emergency services including Polizei, Feuerwehr, or Rettungsdienst.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of German legal frameworks such as Datenschutz and GDPR alongside regional emergency protocols and community engagement strategies.
  • Possess proven experience in emergency response and building relationships with organizations like Berliner Feuerwehr and Polizei Berlin.
  • Communicate and present fluently in both German and English to engage diverse audiences effectively.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop teams while maintaining a collaborative mindset to work productively with legal and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay focused and deliver results under competing pressures while ensuring programs remain on track and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

  • At least 7 years in a leadership or management position within one of Germany's principal emergency services
