The incoming Data Scientist I will partner closely with senior commercial stakeholders to support high-level strategy and drive business growth through advanced analytics. Day-to-day work centers on building and validating machine learning models, designing experiments, and generating actionable insights regarding player behavior within the iGaming ecosystem.
Reporting directly to the Decision Science Manager in Denver, this position exists to provide ongoing analysis and recommendations that enhance commercial performance. Ideal candidates bring solid quantitative training, robust programming skills in Python and SQL, and a demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear business outcomes.
What you will do
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the iGaming ecosystem by studying Sportsbook and Casino operations, products, and player behavior.
- Partner directly with stakeholders across business units to act as a key technical contributor to commercial performance.
- Work alongside analysts and data scientists to build and refine scalable solutions for complex industry challenges.
- Help develop, deploy, and improve automated personalization and promotion engines across the iGaming platform.
- Create and maintain sophisticated Lifetime Value models to optimize marketing efficiency and player segmentation.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, machine learning developments, and competitive shifts in global sports betting.
What you need
- Bring at least two years of proven experience working in an advanced analytics or data science capacity.
- Hold a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including hands-on experience building and validating machine learning models.
- Possess a solid grasp of statistical concepts like regression, clustering, and A/B testing within growth-oriented settings.
- Show expertise in experimental design and causal inference methods such as A/B/n testing, quasi-experiments, and uplift modeling.
- Communicate clearly and build trust with commercial partners through data-driven insights.
Nice to have
- Experience experimenting with Generative AI solutions for LLM-based analysis, automation, or insight generation in a commercial environment.
- Previous professional background in the iGaming sector covering Sportsbook or Casino operations.
- Prior hands-on experience developing Customer Lifetime Value models.
