About this role
Data scientists at Fospha lead end-to-end production projects by scoping, building, and shipping production-level code for marketing measurement products. Responsibilities include independently choosing modelling approaches across attribution, marketing mix modelling, incrementality testing, and brand impact, while also resolving bugs across unfamiliar codebases. The data science team owns the models behind tools used by brands such as Dyson, Gymshark, Adanola, and Huel to measure marketing effectiveness across channels.
This role exists for an established practitioner who wants to own technical decisions and act as the modelling expert in client conversations. Successful candidates demonstrate high agency, strong machine learning judgment, and an ability to use artificial intelligence as leverage for coding tasks and automation workflows. Mentorship of junior colleagues and rigorous peer code reviews are central to daily operations within the London-based team.
What you will do
- Lead larger production projects end-to-end through scoping, building, and shipping production-level code.
- Independently select and apply appropriate modelling approaches across attribution, marketing mix modelling, incrementality testing, and brand impact.
- Resolve bugs and queries independently across unfamiliar repositories without routing them upwards.
- Leverage artificial intelligence to solve coding tickets quickly, unblock dependencies, and build automation workflows.
- Communicate confidently and independently with clients and colleagues as the resident modelling expert.
- Support the development of less experienced colleagues through code reviews, methodology critiques, and hands-on assistance.
What you need
- Bring solid commercial data science experience, typically between three and five years of shipping models into production.
- Demonstrate strong machine learning knowledge across multiple algorithm families with sound judgment for picking the right approach.
- Write strong Python and SQL code capable of setting standards for production-level output.
- Debug and resolve issues independently across unfamiliar repositories while using artificial intelligence tooling effectively.
- Communicate clearly and independently with clients and stakeholders as a technical authority.
- Show readiness to develop junior colleagues through mentorship and technical guidance.
Nice to have
- Bayesian modelling experience, particularly hierarchical models
- Experience with AWS or comparable cloud tooling
- Familiarity with automated QA tooling and test coverage practices
- Experience with marketing, ecommerce, or advertising data
