Role Overview

remarcable-inc seeks a Data Scientist for a hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC. The professional in this role will collaborate closely with the Data Engineering team to establish semantic and analytical layers within the data lakehouse. Responsibilities span across data analysis, machine learning model development, and reporting to support both internal operations and customer-facing features.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Data Engineering to design analytical and semantic layers on top of AWS infrastructure such as S3, Redshift, Athena, and Glue.
Convert vague business inquiries into actionable analyses and present findings to diverse stakeholders.
Examine data related to product usage, operations, and customers to pinpoint trends and opportunities for business growth.
Construct heuristics and models for features like smart search, forecasting, and recommendation engines.
Establish AI and machine learning infrastructure including feature engineering, training datasets, and evaluation workflows for SageMaker and Bedrock.
Maintain core analytics tracking company metrics like ARR, churn, NRR, and return on investment.
Develop internal and customer-facing reporting solutions.
Design and validate product experiments and A/B tests to enhance user experience.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical function.
Adaptable, resourceful, and motivated mindset suited for a startup setting.
Advanced SQL capabilities including window functions, performance tuning, and complex queries.
Proficiency in Python utilizing libraries such as NumPy and pandas.
Background in creating dashboards and reporting tools like Looker, Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight, or custom solutions.
Familiarity with modern data transformation platforms such as dbt.
Practical experience developing, validating, and deploying machine learning and heuristic models.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with the AWS data and machine learning stack including Redshift, Athena, SageMaker, and Bedrock.
Prior involvement in developing recommendation systems or next-best-action features.
