Role Overview

The Data Engineer III role focuses on building, maintaining, and scaling the data foundation at Inter Carreiras. Operating within hybrid work models in Belo Horizonte or São Paulo, the professional will ensure the reliability, governance, and quality of data used across financial services.

Key Responsibilities

Build, operate, and scale cloud-based data platforms using Amazon Web Services.
Create Python scripts, Directed Acyclic Graphs, and reusable components using Airflow for data lake publication.
Monitor operating environments, troubleshoot system issues, and handle incident management for Airflow and Trino.
Implement infrastructure as code solutions utilizing Terraform and containerization tools.
Apply data quality, governance, protection practices, and data mesh principles to support business units.

Requirements

Hands-on production experience with Amazon Web Services components including S3, Glue, IAM, secrets management, compute instances, and logs.
Software development capability using Python to build libraries and operational jobs.
Practical background in developing and operating data pipelines through Airflow.
Operational expertise working with Trino or Starburst.
Practical application of Docker and Terraform.
Solid knowledge of SQL and data lake table architecture.
Understanding of Data Mesh, Data Fabric, data quality, and data governance frameworks.
Senior-level autonomy, collaboration, and communication abilities.

Nice to Have

Coding experience in Java, Pinot, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
Operational background using Elastic Kubernetes Service, Kafka, or Spark.
Advanced conversational English proficiency.
Professional certifications in Amazon Web Services or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
Familiarity with specific data lineage or data quality tools.
Exposure to Model Context Protocol and artificial intelligence stacks.
